El Taurino es muy Deliciouso!

El Taurino is a restaurant where one smoldering red sauce changes everything about a Mexican meal experience. While no one can get through a burrito, a tostada, tacos, or a torta without feeling the need to dump their heads in a bucket of water, this is one mouth-watering meal that you won’t forget!

Carne Asada Burrito with rice & beans: This simple gift, wrapped in a warm flour tortilla, consists of Spanish rice, bite size pieces of Carne Asada meat, fresh green cilantro, and diced onions. This sounds like your regular burrito, but by adding the infamous red sauce one by one to your every bite, it becomes something beyond the ordinary. (P.S. For those that can’t handle the heat of a very spicy sauce make sure you ask for a SIDE of sauce).

Tostada: If you decide to choose the Tostada as your meal, prepare yourself for a fried tortilla, or a taco shell, underneath the beautiful combination of freshly sliced avocado, diced tomatoes, rich beef fried bean paste, Carne Asada meat or the Al Pastor meat, topped with a merry sprinkle of white Cotijaa cheese. The Tostada also comes with the side of the red spicy sauce to complete your fantastic street food meal.

The Tacos: If you have a small appetite, the choice of a Carne Asada taco, or the Al Pastor taco, is an excellent pick. These tiny tacos include the greens with a distinct taste and smell: the cilantro, diced onions, and your option of Carne Asada or the Al Pastor meat all wrapped up in flour tortilla. These tacos are small so make sure you buy at least two to satisfy your hungry self and of course don’t forget the red sauce!

The Torta: Last but not least, we have the Torta. Mexico’s version of an American sandwich, the Torta is a sandwich with beans, cheddar cheese, avocados, onions, and sliced tomatoes in between a white bread dinner roll.

The Sauces: The most crucial ingredient to your El Taurino meal is the sauce.

The most popular is the dangerously hot red sauce. A seething burn with a slightly tangy kick will have you go after water like never before, but no matter how spicy it is, you will find yourself pouring it on your plate with your every bite. If you can’t handle the heat, you don’t have to miss out on this “saucecapade.”

The second choice of sauce is the green sauce. A slightly less spicy version of the red, it gives your taste buds the right amount of piquant taste with a tiny zesty twist.

Unfortunately there’s only ONE El Taurino in California, so don’t be surprised to find yourself waiting in a long line. The business thriving at night, try calling in at 213.738.9197 prior to your arrival. El Taurino will always be delicious, but it tastes even better after a long night of drinking or clubbing with your buddies 😉

  1. I like the “merry sprinkles” phrase. You could have a future as a food critic!
